Phone Calls with the Room Phone
Phone lines in the conference rooms use the same University dialing plan as the desk phones.
- On Campus: dial the five-digit extension
- Example: 50050
- Local: dial 8 + the seven-digit number
- Example: 8 865 0050
- Long Distance: dial 8 + 1 + the ten-digit number
- Example: 8 1 814 865 0050
International calls require the use of an authorization code so that the calls can be billed back to the correct unit. Contact Chrissy McGinley (863-8353) prior to your meeting if you need assistance with an authorization code.
- Enter the access code 175
- Enter your authorization code and immediately follow with the # sign
- Dial 8 + 011 + country code + city + telephone number
Video Conference
- Select START below VIDEO/AUDIO CONFERENCE to start the system for meetings that require connecting to a remote site or sites. The system should start up, along with the flat screen displays on the wall.
- Press the Polycom button to go to the dial menu.
- With the dial pad, select “Zoom Video Bridge”
- Dial the meeting id.
- The numbers will not appear on the touchscreen panel, but should appear on the flat screen display on the wall.
- Use the arrows to navigate the information on the flat screen display.
- Exit the screen to return to the previous menu.
- Press START GRAPHICS to start sending the laptop’s content to a far-site during a video conference call.
- When your meeting is over, please press the System Off button.
Presentation Mode
- On the small touchscreen panel, press the Presentation Mode button.
- Use the buttons on the touchscreen to select the appropriate input.
- For wired connections, it may be necessary to press the Windows key and tap “P” on Windows machines to toggle through display options.
- You may need to press the input button a second time after the video cable is unplugged.
- When your meeting is over, please press the System Off button.
Audio Conference (Telephone Call)
- Press the Audio Conference button
- Enter the phone number you would like to call and press the Dial button
- On Campus: dial the five-digit extension
- Example: 50050
- Local: dial 8 + the seven-digit number
- Example: 8 865 0050
- Long Distance: dial 8 + 1 + the ten-digit number
- Example: 8 1 814 865 0050
- On Campus: dial the five-digit extension
- To connect more than one call, press the Conference button after dialing. Dial the next number, and repeat as necessary.
- Press Hang-up to end the call.
For incoming calls:
- Change to Video Conference mode
- Press the Audio Conference button
- Wait for the call (there should be a ring tone and message on the large flat panel displays)
- Click Answer under the Audio Conference menu to accept incoming calls
- If you are not dialing into a video conference, you may now change back to Presentation Mode
- To end the call, you will need to first go back to the Audio Conference panel
- Press Hang-up to end the call
Troubleshooting
Flat screen display or projector is not turning on:
- Press the Displays button; you should be able to turn them off and on from there.
Laptop is not displaying:
- Try removing video connector and then plugging it back in; you may need to press the laptop button again.
- The laptop resolution should automatically adjust. If it does not, you may need to manually select 1024 x 768 as the screen resolution.
Ethernet Port
There is an active Ethernet port labeled “Internet” in the floor box.
