Outreach conference rooms and technology are set up and configured for Outreach users. However, there may be times when an external presenter is using the room. This page provides an overview of the options for those users. If you have any questions, OIT Service Desk will be happy to help you.
Computer Options
- Option 1: (Recommended)
It is recommended that external presenters bring their own computers. Each room is equipped with connections that allow presenters to easily hook up an external laptop to the room technology. This is the best option to ensure a good experience for everyone involved. If the presenter requires Internet access and does not have a Penn State Access Account, they will need to connect to the AT&T guest wireless network. - Option 2:
If the speaker has a Penn State Access Account, they can log on to the podium computers in rooms that have a dedicated desktop in the room. They do not have to be an Outreach employee to use these machines; any user with a Penn State account will have access (including students, faculty, and staff). - Option 3:
In the event that an external presenter does not have a Penn State account and did not bring their own computer, they can request a loaner from the OOEIT Service Desk in the Outreach Building room 240. These loaner computers will have a guest account on them. If the presenter requires Internet access, they will need to use the AT&T guest wireless network.
